Job summary

Valser Group in Malaysia is seeking a Project Engineer to coordinate and deliver projects from award to close-out. You will manage schedules, track progress, and maintain documentation across cross-functional teams including suppliers, clients, SCM, Production, QHSE, Engineering, and Finance.

The role requires 3–5 years of hands-on project delivery experience in Oil & Gas or industrial environments, with strong budgeting, risk management, and reporting capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of hands-on project engineering or delivery experience in Oil & Gas or similar industrial environments.
• Experience handling scheduling, supplier coordination, inspections, expediting, and documentation.
• Strong understanding of project planning, budgeting, cash flow monitoring, risk mitigation, and close-out processes.
• Familiar with project management tools and engineering documentation processes.
• Good communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams including SCM, Production, QHSE, Engineering, Finance, suppliers, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor project execution from award to close-out.
• Prepare and manage project schedules, progress tracking, reporting, and documentation.
• Coordinate with suppliers, clients, SCM, Production, QHSE, Engineering, and Finance for smooth execution.
• Follow up on material status, supplier deliverables, inspections, testing activities, and shipments.
• Support planning, budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and recovery actions when needed.
• Ensure project documentation, technical submissions, reports, and records are maintained.
• Attend meetings, client discussions, inspections, and coordination activities as required.
• Monitor risks, issues, delays, and coordinate mitigation or recovery plans.
• Ensure activities comply with procedures, customer requirements, and quality standards.
• Support close-out activities including final documentation, delivery coordination, and completion records.
• Coordinate multiple ongoing projects and ensure deadlines are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• At least 3–5 years of hands-on experience in project engineering or project delivery within Oil & Gas, valve, flow control, or industrial environments
• Experience handling project execution activities including scheduling, supplier coordination, inspections, expediting, shipment arrangements, technical documentation, and client coordination
• Strong understanding of project planning, budgeting, cash flow monitoring, risk mitigation, and project close-out processes
• Familiar with project management tools, engineering documentation processes, inspections, and reporting requirements
• Good communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams including SCM, Production, QHSE, Engineering, Finance, suppliers, and clients
• Able to manage multiple ongoing projects and work within demanding project timelines
• Self-motivated, organized, analytical, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Candidates with prior exposure in Oil & Gas, valves, actuators, flow control, or industrial projects will be given priority consideration
