Job summary

BizLink Group in Penang, Malaysia is seeking an Assistant Process Engineering Manager to optimize and improve manufacturing processes through Lean, Six Sigma, and automation initiatives, ensuring efficiency, quality and cost-effectiveness.

You will lead engineering teams, drive process improvements, and coordinate cross-functional efforts to enhance productivity and safety, while developing FMEA, control plans and work instructions for sustained operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in process engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating, and supervising process engineering activities.
• Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to optimize productivity and reduce cost/waste.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions for process issues.
• Implement Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with Quality, Production, and Molding teams on process development.
• Prepare and maintain process documentation, FMEA, control plans, and work instructions.
• Monitor KPIs (Cycle Time, Yield, OEE) and report process performance.
• Support in capacity planning, equipment layout, and manpower arrangement.

Overview Of The Position

This role supports the Process Engineering Manager in optimizing and improving manufacturing processes through Lean, Six Sigma, and automation initiatives, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. It involves leading engineering teams, driving process improvements, and coordinating cross-functional efforts to enhance productivity and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating, and supervising process engineering activities.

Job Requirements

• Degree/Master: Electronic & Electrical/RoboticEngineering Technology or Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent, and demonstrated 5 years of experience in process engineering or a manufacturing environment. Prior involvement in large-scale process improvement or automation projects is preferred.
• Ability to interpret engineering design documents: ie., schematics, drawings.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
• Familiar with PFMEA, control plans, and root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.).
• Skilled in process flow, line balancing, cycle time analysis, and work standardization.
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and process simulation tools.
• Good leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Able to work cross-functionally and handle multiple projects.
