ACTMAX SDN. BHD. seeks a Process Engineer to design, implement and optimize industrial processes in a manufacturing setting, translating design requirements into repeatable, reliable procedures.
You will develop PFDs and P&IDs, SOPs, and scale‑up processes from lab to full production, while applying SPC, Six Sigma and RCA to improve throughput and quality. A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechatronics Engineering and hands‑on experience with ISO 9001
The Process Engineer is a technical specialist responsible for designing, implementing, controlling, and optimizing industrial processes within a manufacturing or production environment. The primary goal is to ensure processes are efficient, safe, cost-effective, and capable of consistently producing products that meet strict quality specifications. This role focuses on translating product design requirements into repeatable, reliable, and scalable manufacturing procedures.
Key responsibilities
Design and develop new manufacturing processes, including generating detailed Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications
Create and maintain comprehensive manufacturing documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and equipment operational guidelines
Manage the transfer and scale-up of processes from lab/pilot scale to full commercial production, ensuring robust and reproducible results
Analyze production data, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve throughput, reduce cycle time, and lower manufacturing costs
Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Six Sigma methodologies to monitor process variables, reduce variation, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Lead cross-functional teams to conduct thorough Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of persistent production issues, low yields, or quality failures, implementing sustainable corrective actions
Conduct and document formal Process Validation studies (IQ, OQ, PQ) to qualify new equipment and processes, ensuring they meet specified performance parameters
Develop and maintain core quality planning documents such as Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plans to mitigate potential risks
Ensure all manufacturing processes and equipment comply with environmental, safety (OSHA), and quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001 or industry-specific regulations)
Monitor the performance of manufacturing equipment, identifying the need for upgrades, modifications, or replacement based on efficiency and reliability data
About you
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechatronics Engineering
Progressive experience in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Production supervision, preferably in a relevant industry (e.g., mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, automotive, etc)
Proven experience applying statistical methods to solve manufacturing problems
Expert knowledge of process design tools (PFDs, P&IDs) and process mapping techniques
Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC), Process Capability Studies (CpK), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
Strong understanding of industrial equipment, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, or relevant unit operations
Experience with quality systems like ISO 9001 and formal process validation protocols
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is highly desirable
Professional Engineer (PE) license is a strong asset
