Permai Polyclinics Fortuna is seeking a full-time pharmacy assistant to support dispensing and storage operations in a busy clinic environment. You will learn to prepare, label and arrange medications according to prescriptions under physician guidance, while ensuring accuracy and safety in handling drugs.
The role includes stock checking, order placement, patient instruction, and basic administrative tasks.
This is a full-time, shift-based position in a 24-hour clinic environment.
Key responsibilities
Assist in preparing, labelling and arranging medications according to prescriptions and the doctor's instructions
Dispense medications to patients under the supervision and direction of the doctor or authorised healthcare professional
Explain basic medication instructions clearly to patients, including dosage, frequency and storage requirements
Maintain accurate records of medications received, dispensed, returned or disposed
Monitor medication and medical-supply stock levels and prepare restocking or purchase requests
Check medication expiry dates regularly and ensure items are arranged according to the First-Expire, First-Out (FEFO) method
Receive deliveries and verify the quantity, condition and expiry dates of supplied items
Ensure medications are stored safely and at the appropriate temperature
Maintain the cleanliness, safety and organisation of the dispensary and medication-storage areas
Assist with clinic registration, billing and other administrative duties when required
Assist with procurement of medications
About you
Certificate or Diploma in Pharmacy, Pharmacy Assistance or a related field is preferred
Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
Previous experience in a clinic, hospital, pharmacy or healthcare setting will be an advantage
Basic knowledge of medications, stock management and dispensing procedures
Able to communicate effectively in Bahasa Malaysia and English
Ability to communicate in Mandarin or local languages is an advantage
Computer literate and able to learn clinic-management systems
Careful, responsible and attentive to detail
Friendly, helpful and able to communicate professionally with patients
Able to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
Ability to speak in Mandarin is an added advantage
On-the-job training and opportunities to develop practical clinic experience
