Job summary

Vistra in Malaysia is seeking a Team Lead - Payroll to oversee daily payroll operations and drive accuracy and compliance across a regional scope. Reporting to the Senior Operation Manager, this role blends hands-on leadership with strategic oversight for a growing payroll function.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years in payroll, strong English communication, and a proven ability to manage teams, ensure timely month-end close, and uphold ISAE3402 standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years payroll experience.
• Experience with statutory compliance in Malaysia.
• Strong English communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist and coordinate payroll data migration and parallel testing.
• Supervise the daily operations of the team members.
• Ensure month-end close related reports are submitted to clients on time and accurately recorded.
• Administer and monitor payroll processing schedule for associates in the team.
• Coordinate and monitor end-to-end payroll process in line with ISAE3402 requirements.
• Maintain resource planning to meet SLA.
• Verify payroll reports before transmission to client.
• Ensure payroll statutory compliance on compensation.
• Coordinate timely year-end reporting.

Reporting to the Senior Operation Manager- Payroll, this full-time and permanent position is based in Malaysia and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Payroll department and its’ growth.

Key responsibilities:

• Assist and coordinate in payroll data migration and parallel testing.
• Supervise the daily operations of the team members.
• Ensure that the month-end close related reports are submitted to clients on a timely manner, that all payroll-related reports and/or information are accurately and completely recorded and reported.
• Responsible for administering and monitoring payroll processing schedule for associates in the team.
• Monitor and coordinates the end to end payroll process of associates in line with ISAE3402 requirement.
• Ensure adequate resource planning to maintain service level with SLA.
• Verify reconciliation and payroll reports prior to transmission to client.
• Guide and ensure proper payroll statutory compliance applied on compensation paid through payroll.
• Coordinate and monitor accurate and timely year-end reporting.

• Professional Certificate, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Professional Degree in Human Resource Management, Finance/Accountancy/Banking, Business Studies/Administration/Management, or equivalent
