Job summary

Cape EMS Berhad, headquartered in Senai, Johor, is seeking an HR Officer (Payroll) to ensure accurate monthly payroll, attendance, and employee claims. You will maintain confidential records and support HR reporting, while coordinating with departments to resolve issues expediently.

The role requires a diploma or degree in HRM/related field, with 3 years of payroll experience preferred in manufacturing. Proficiency in Excel and strong attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in HRM/related field required or preferred
• Experience in payroll and attendance management is preferred, with fresh graduates encouraged to apply
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, attendance management, HR policies, and statutory requirements
• Knowledge of EPF, SOCSO, EIS, and PCB payroll contributions
• Excellent numerical and analytical abilities
• Ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies accurately
• Organizational skills, time management, and follow-up
• Proficiency in Excel and written/verbal communication
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Independent, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work under pressure during payroll closing periods
• Teamwork and willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll accurately and on time, including attendance, overtime, leave, allowances, deductions, and statutory contributions
• Review and verify attendance and payroll data before payroll closing
• Monitor attendance, overtime, leave, and other payroll-related information
• Review, verify, and process employee claims and reimbursements per policies
• Maintain accurate payroll, attendance, claims, and employee records with confidentiality
• Prepare payroll, attendance, claims, and HR-related reports as required
• Handle payroll, attendance, and claims inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Coordinate with departments to ensure smooth payroll and attendance administration
• Liaise with payroll/HR system vendor to resolve system-related issues
• Ensure payroll and claims processes comply with company policies and statutory requirements
• Support HR reporting, data analysis, and other HR operational activities
• Assist with general HR admin duties and ad-hoc HR projects
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management
