Job summary

Tan Chong Ekspres Auto Servis Sdn Bhd is seeking a Parts Operations Manager to oversee storage standards, receiving, and binning across workshop parts stores. You will drive SOP compliance through audits and generate monthly performance reports covering MOS, fulfillment rates, and obsolescence, while coordinating with the Central Parts Depot on logistics and back orders.

The role requires a meticulous, analytical individual with at least 3 years' experience managing large workshop spare parts

Responsibilities

• Provide Parts Operations standards to workshop parts store operations (storage, receiving, binning).
• Conduct periodic audits to ensure Parts SOP compliance.
• Provide monthly reports on region spare parts performance (fulfillment, MOS, obsolescence).
• Perform periodic stock-take at workshops and review stock listings (MOS).
• Coordinate with Central Parts Depot on back orders, returns and logistics issues.
• Advise staff, Service Managers and Regional Operations Managers on parts processes.
• Deliver training to improve SM, ROM and parts officer skills and knowledge.
• Attend and resolve difficult customer complaints pertaining to part issues.

Job description

This role involves managing and overseeing Parts Operations standards across workshop parts store operations, including storage standards, receiving and binning procedures. You will conduct periodic audits to ensure Parts SOP compliance, provide monthly performance reports on spare parts metrics, and perform stock-take activities. The position requires coordination with Central Parts Depot on logistics issues and providing guidance to staff across spare part centers, branches, and regional management.

Key responsibilities

• Provide key Parts Operations standards to workshop parts store operations such as storage standards, receiving and binning
• Conduct periodic audit to workshops to ensure Parts SOP compliance
• Provide monthly report on Region Spare Parts performance such as parts fulfillment rate, month of stock (MOS), parts obsolescence rate
• Perform periodic parts stock-take at the workshops
• Review and advise workshop on stock item listing and overall parts inventory (MOS)
• Responsible to minimize stock obsolescence
• Coordinate with Central Parts Depot on Pending Back Orders, parts return and parts logistics issues
• Provide advice and guidance for staffs in spare part centers/branches, Service Managers (SM) and Regional Operations Managers (ROM)
• Conduct workshop parts store management training to improve SM, ROM and parts officer skill and knowledge
• Attend and resolve difficult customer's complaint pertaining to part issues

About you

• Detailed-oriented individual who is comfortable with inventory management and capable to conduct analysis of spare parts inventories
• Minimum 3 years' experience in managing a large-size workshop spare parts store
• Good knowledge of automotive parts and use of manual and Electronic Parts Catalog System
• People-oriented and able to conduct regular visits to workshops in your region
• Business savvy and capable of working independently, with effective time management and work planning
