Job summary

Sunzo Solar is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to own the delivery of solar projects from contract signing to installation and TNB approval. You will oversee installation crews, procurement, suppliers, and regulatory applications, ensuring quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

This hands-on role requires strong knowledge of solar systems, equipment, and project execution. Local travel across Klang Valley and surrounding areas is expected, with immediate joiners encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in solar operations or renewable energy project delivery.
• Practical understanding of residential solar PV systems and installation processes.
• Knowledge of regulatory processes (SEDA, ATAP, TNB).
• Experience managing installation crews or subcontractors.
• Valid driving licence and own transportation.
• Willingness to travel regularly to installation sites.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end installation pipeline from contract to TNB approval.
• Plan and manage installation schedules and crew capacity across projects.
• Manage subcontracted installation teams with briefing, scheduling and QC.
• Coordinate SEDA, ATAP, TNB applications and approvals.
• Procure panels, inverters, mounting systems, and electrical components.
• Source suppliers and negotiate pricing and lead times.
• Coordinate warehouse, inventory, and material dispatch.
• Conduct site visits and post-installation quality checks.
• Ensure installations meet technical, safety, and quality requirements.
• Maintain project records with photos, checklists, and warranties.
• Track signed but not installed projects and progress timelines.
• Report on installations completed, backlog, crew utilization, costs.

Sunzo Solar is a growing clean energy company focused on making solar adoption simple, accessible, and affordable for homes and businesses across Malaysia.

We provide end to end solar solutions, from system design and installation to financing and ongoing customer support.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager with hands-on solar industry experience to own the delivery of our solar projects from the moment a customer signs through to successful installation and TNB approval.

You will manage installation crews, procurement, suppliers, permitting, project scheduling, quality control, and the overall installation pipeline. This is a hands-on role and requires someone who understands both the technical and operational side of solar installations.

GCPV certification is a MUST for this role. Candidates who do not hold a GCPV certification will not be considered.

What You Will Do

• Own the end to end installation pipeline from signed contract to completed installation and TNB approval.
• Plan and manage installation schedules, crew capacity and multiple concurrent projects.
• Manage subcontracted installation teams, including briefing, scheduling, quality control and performance.
• Coordinate SEDA, ATAP, TNB and other required regulatory applications and approvals.
• Manage procurement of panels, inverters, mounting systems, electrical components and other installation materials.
• Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and reliable lead times.
• Coordinate warehouse, inventory and material dispatch for installations.
• Conduct site visits and post installation quality checks.
• Ensure installations meet technical, safety and quality requirements.
• Maintain accurate project and installation records, including photos, checklists and warranty documentation.
• Track signed but not installed projects and ensure projects are scheduled and progressed without unnecessary delays.
• Report regularly on installations completed, project backlog, crew utilisation, project timelines and installation costs.

What We're Looking For

MUST HAVE

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in solar operations, solar installation, electrical contracting or renewable energy project delivery.
• Practical understanding of residential solar PV systems and installation processes.
• Working knowledge of SEDA, ATAP and TNB application processes.
• Experience managing installation crews or subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of solar system components including panels, inverters, mounting systems, DC and AC wiring and protection equipment.
• Valid driving licence and own transportation.
• Willingness to travel regularly to installation sites across Klang Valley and surrounding areas.

Advantageous

• Experience managing 10 or more concurrent solar projects.
• Experience in procurement, supplier negotiation and inventory management.
• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy or a related field.
• Additional ST certifications or relevant electrical competencies.
• Experience transitioning installation operations from outsourced crews to an in house or hybrid model.
• Experience working in a fast growing solar company or startup.
