Pekat RE Maintenance Sdn Bhd is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Manager to drive the O&M function across technical, monitoring, procurement, and safety teams, consolidating processes to ensure reliable, high‑quality services and growth beyond solar into other green technologies.
As Head of O&M, you will lead asset management for renewable energy projects, oversee budgets, SLA delivery, and client relationships, while steering digitalization and continuous improvement initiatives
This position is the important pilot to drive the company’s direction towards continuous improvement and growth. The Operations & Maintenance Manager will be required to manage various internal functional groups and consolidate the processes to ensure optimum and reliable quality of services and work produced. The position is regarded as the Head of Department (HOD) for the O&M section of the company, therefore requires high responsibility, critical decision-making skills & interpersonal skills to perform the management role. This job will not be limited to the solar industry but even other green technology involvement in the current industrial requirement. This position will revolve mainly on Asset Management of renewable energy product.
Lead, plan, and oversee all operational activities across the Operations Department, including Technical C&I, Technical Residential, Monitoring, Engineering, Procurement, Quantity Surveying, Administration, Safety, and Large-Scale Solar functions.
Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements, Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations, company policies, industry standards, and client-specific requirements across all operations and project sites.
Manage and optimize operation and maintenance (O&M) activities, including resource planning, maintenance scheduling, spare parts management, breakdown response, fault diagnosis, and corrective actions to achieve Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Oversee technical performance and operational excellence by monitoring solar system performance, reviewing technical studies, system designs, engineering solutions, maintenance reports, and quality assurance processes.
Manage operational budgets, cost control, procurement activities, contract administration, asset management, and insurance claims to ensure financial efficiency and effective resource utilization.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors, business partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service delivery.
Lead business growth initiatives through the preparation of O&M proposals, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), technical evaluations, cost estimations, and support for new business opportunities.
Drive digitalization and operational improvement by implementing monitoring platforms, process automation, data analytics, and other technology-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Operations team through recruitment, coaching, training, performance management, succession planning, and career development initiatives.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, accountability, and effective communication while providing regular updates and strategic recommendations to senior management to support organizational objectives.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in site hands-on experience related to PV System or 5 years’ experience in engineering/operation & maintenance related systems.
Proven experience in managing utility-scale and distributed solar PV projects.
Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, energy storage systems, and renewable energy asset management.
Familiarity with Malaysian regulatory requirements, including Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) regulations, the Electricity Supply Act, and industry design and construction standards.
Strong technical competency in solar PV operations, fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and maintenance management.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, budgeting, and financial management skills, with the ability to assess operational impacts on business performance.
Strong leadership, people management, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines effectively.
Proactive, collaborative, and results-driven with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Willing and able to travel regularly and undertake outstation assignments as required.
