SimpliSolar is a rapidly growing Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) EPCC company delivering practical, high-impact renewable energy solutions for commercial, industrial and residential customers.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Manager, Operations & Project Delivery to lead our Operations & Project Delivery Department.

This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the engineering, project execution, installation, testing, commissioning, handover and technical support of our Solar PV, BESS and related electrical projects.

The successful candidate will lead the department, strengthen project-delivery capabilities, establish effective operational and technical processes, and ensure that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time, within budget and in accordance with applicable requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the Operations & Project Delivery Department, including engineering, project execution, installation, commissioning and maintenance functions.
• Plan and manage departmental manpower, workload, competencies, performance and resource allocation.
• Provide technical and operational leadership for Solar PV, BESS and associated electrical projects.
• Oversee projects from technical design and planning through installation, testing, commissioning, handover and post-completion support.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and in accordance with contractual, technical and quality requirements.
• Review and approve engineering designs, calculations, drawings, equipment specifications, technical submissions and method statements.
• Establish, implement and continuously improve operational procedures, engineering standards, project controls, checklists and quality‑assurance processes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Malaysian laws, safety requirements, electrical standards and regulatory requirements, including those of Suruhanjaya Tenaga, SEDA Malaysia, TNB and other relevant authorities.
• Provide oversight for low‑voltage and medium‑voltage electrical systems associated with commercial and industrial projects.
• Monitor project schedules, costs, risks, variations, resources, quality and key deliverables.
• Identify and resolve technical, operational and site‑related issues in a timely and structured manner.
• Coordinate closely with Sales, Business Development, Procurement, Finance, customers, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors and regulatory authorities.
• Support tendering and business‑development activities through site assessments, technical solution development, cost optimisation and preparation of technical proposals.
• Lead root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for design, installation, commissioning and system‑performance issues.
• Evaluate new technologies, products and delivery methods to improve safety, quality, productivity, system performance and commercial competitiveness.
• Promote a strong departmental culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Position Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role within the electrical or renewable energy sector, specifically solar PV systems.
• Proven track record of managing technical teams and successfully delivering complex projects.
• In‑depth knowledge of electrical power, and solar PV system design, installation, and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of local regulatory requirements and standards.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in project management and familiar with relevant software tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Strategic thinker with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
