Job summary

Ambu A/S in Penang, Malaysia is seeking a Manager, Employee Relations / HRBP – Operations to partner with the Operations team and drive fair, compliant people solutions. You will advise leaders, manage complex employee matters and support a high-performing workplace aligned with Ambu’s values.

The role requires 8–10 years of HR experience, strong knowledge of Malaysian employment law, and the ability to translate business priorities into people plans while partnering with capability-building

Qualifications

• Substantial employee relations and HR business partnering experience in manufacturing or operations.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment legislation and industrial relations practices.
• Experience handling complex, sensitive employee cases and advising senior leaders.
• Experience with organisation change, workforce planning, talent management, engagement and performance management.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, facilitation and stakeholder-management skills.
• Professional proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end employee relations matters including misconduct, grievances, discipline and performance concerns.
• Conduct or oversee investigations with due process, confidentiality and escalation.
• Advise leaders on corrective actions and case resolution balancing business needs and risk.
• Maintain accurate case records, monitor trends and provide insights for prevention.
• Support respectful workplace practices, listening and effective grievance channels.
• Partner with internal and external legal advisors and authorities when required.
• Ensure policies and practices comply with Malaysian employment law and Ambu standards.
• Review and improve ER procedures, guidance and templates.
• Identify risks and recommend mitigation measures.
• Support audits and regulatory reviews with documentation and timely follow-up.
• Educate managers and employees on ER best practices including harassment prevention and mental health awareness.
• Guide leaders through restructures, redeployment and separations with proper consultation.
