Job summary

Ambu A/S in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Manager, Employee Relations / HRBP – Operations to partner with the Operations organization. You will provide trusted advice on employment practices, manage complex employee matters, and ensure a fair, safe, and high-performing workplace aligned with Ambu’s values and objectives.

The role focuses on leading employee relations, governance and compliance, and partnering with leaders on workforce planning, engagement and change across Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Industrial Relations, Law or related field.
• 8–10 years of HR experience with employee relations and HRBP responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment law and industrial relations practices.
• Experience handling complex, sensitive employee cases and advising senior leaders.
• Experience with organisation change, workforce planning and engagement.
• Proficient in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end employee relations matters including misconduct, grievances and investigations.
• Advise leaders on actions, risk, and case resolution with due process and confidentiality.
• Maintain case records, monitor trends and provide insights on root causes.
• Ensure compliant employment practices and guide managers through changes and restructures.
• Partner with legal advisors and authorities when required.
• Support audits, governance processes and timely closure of findings.
