Job summary

Pengerang Terminals Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Operations Engineer to guide safe, efficient terminal operations and deliver performance improvements. You will analyse process data, investigate incidents, develop corrective actions and coordinate cross functional teams to optimize productivity and cost control.

The role requires a degree in Engineering and at least 8 years in petroleum, petrochemical or bulk liquid storage, including 5 years in supervision.

To guide, support and implement safe work practices in line with company SHEQ and relevant legal requirements.

Investigate operational incidents, process deviations and abnormal conditions, perform root cause analysis, recommend corrective and preventive actions, and prepare comprehensive investigation reports.

Analyze terminal operational data and performance trends to identify and implement improvements in productivity, operational efficiency, and cost optimization.

Coordinate manpower, work schedules, and cross-functional activities to ensure safe and efficient terminal operations.

Manage internal and external stakeholders on vessel operations, product receipt and delivery, tank movements, and other terminal activities to meet operational requirements and customer demands.

Plan, coordinate and monitor training and competency development for Operations shift teams to ensure personnel are qualified, competent and prepared to perform terminal operations safely and effectively.

Developing and updating Terminal Operating Standards and Procedure.

Own and drive the resolution of long-term operational issues, working with relevant stakeholders to maintain terminal performance and agreed customer service levels.

Manage operational consumables planning and procurement, and monitor expenditure against the approved budget.

Address terminal operational enquiries and provide timely feedback to Customer and Commercial teams.

Experience and Certified as On Scene Commander during an emergency situation.

Manage OPEX budget and handle Capex project.

Requirements:

Minimum of a Degree in Engineering in any related field or equivalent industry experience preferably related to Oil & Gas.

Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in petroleum, petrochemical or bulk liquid storage terminal operations, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity with direct responsibility for people management.

Excellent working knowledge of the Petroleum/Petrochemical and Storage Terminal industry, with a deep understanding of technical and operational processes.

Strong supervisory and leadership skills, excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and good verbal and written communication skills as required.

Familiarity with Government and authorities regulations and policies is an added advantage.

Highly independent, self-driven, and results-oriented.

Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem resolution.

Demonstrates strong problem-solving, emotional intelligence, and sound decision-making, with the ability to remain composed and lead effectively under pressure.
