Job summary

Pengerang Terminals Sdn Bhd is seeking a Technician, Operation to support safe, efficient day-to-day operations at the terminal and jetty facilities. The role collaborates with the Operations team to ensure activities align with company procedures and standards.

Responsibilities include field preparation, PTW control, gas testing, tank gauging, sampling, and maintaining equipment. The candidate should have a Diploma in Engineering and good English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field preparation, execution and monitoring of product movement operations at terminal and jetties.
• Perform area checks and report leaks or malfunctions to CCR/Supervisor.
• Issue PTW and control access to assigned areas.
• Conduct gas testing for hot work and confined space entry as Authorized Gas Tester.
• Assist in cleaning and preparation of tanks, pumps and pipelines for service changes.
• Maintain good housekeeping and ensure equipment is in good condition.
• Monitor tank gauging, sampling, and temperature readings per procedures.
• Participate in firefighting and emergency response training organized by HSE.

Job description

We're seeking for Technician, Operation to support the safe and efficient day-to-day operations of PTSB terminal and jetty facilities. The role will work closely with the Operations team to ensure activities are carried out smoothly and in accordance with company procedures and operational standards.

Job Description:

Accountable for all field preparation, execution, and monitoring of product movement operations at the terminal and jetties. Such as ship loading/discharging, inter-tank/terminal transfer, pigging, stripping, tank gauging, sampling, and truck loading/unloading.

Perform area checks, and identify and report any equipment leaks, malfunctions, or abnormalities to CCR and/or Supervisor.

Take ownership of the assigned area. Performed field assessment before issuing Permit-to-Work (PTW) at the assigned area. Control and only allowed authorized personnel to be in the assigned area under PTW. Stop work if found any unsafe condition or unsafe act.

To be an Authorized Gas Tester, perform the gas testing duty for hot work and confined space entry.

Assist in cleaning and preparation of tanks, pumps, and pipelines for change of product service or maintenance.

Perform and maintain good housekeeping at the terminal or jetty.

Check and feedback to boardman to ensure system lined up is as per work order and all equipment are in good working condition at field.

Monitor, ensure and/or witness surveyor carry out ship’s tank gauging, product sampling, additive doping and temperature reading activities is according to approved operating procedures.

Participate in firefighting and emergency response training conducted or organized by HSE Department.

One ERT, acts as First Aider, Kinker, or Hose Man in case of emergency in the terminal.

Skills:

Basic knowledge of terminal operation and basic terminal working knowledge.

Basic knowledge of oil products, terminal equipment, and safety management

Ability to manage multiple parties' communication and operate under conditions of tight timelines and customer demands

Basic computer skills in MS Excel, Word & Powerpoint.

Basic knowledge of manual tank gauging and sampling

Ability to perform as an Emergency Respond Team (ERT) and respond to any emergency situations/scenarios.

Good analytical and troubleshooting skills, positive attitude, self motivation and strong commitment to work.

Ability to work under pressure and emotional control.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Requirements:

Able to work at working at height and in confined spaces.
