Job summary

East Asia Palm Products Sdn Bhd in Kuching, Sarawak, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager/Executive to lead our manufacturing and logistics operations. Based full-time on-site, you will optimize production processes, enforce safety standards, and report to senior management to hit operational targets.

You will manage operators and production staff, monitor performance, and drive process improvements while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and quality controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations management or a similar supervisory role within manufacturing, transport and logistics.
• Experience managing machine operators and production teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
• Experience with quality control processes and adherence to manufacturing standards.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations in manufacturing facilities.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager/Executive to join our team at East Asia Palm Products Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Kuching, Sarawak, offering a strategic opportunity to oversee and optimise our manufacturing and logistics operations. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining safety standards, and driving operational excellence across our facility. You will report directly to senior management and play a crucial role in achieving our operational targets and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day manufacturing and operational activities to ensure smooth production flow and adherence to schedules
• Manage and supervise machine operators and production staff, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and standard operating procedures
• Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance activities to minimise downtime and maximise productivity
• Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure products meet company standards and customer requirements
• Optimize operational efficiency by identifying bottlenecks, implementing process improvements, and reducing waste
• Manage inventory levels and coordinate logistics activities including warehousing and distribution
• Prepare and analyze operational reports, including production metrics, safety records, and cost performance
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to manufacturing operations
• Collaborate with other departments including finance, quality assurance, and sales to support business objectives
• Train and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations management or a similar supervisory role within the manufacturing, transport and logistics sector
• Proven experience managing machine operators and production teams in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and inventory management
• Experience with quality control processes and adherence to manufacturing standards
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations in manufacturing facilities
• Proficiency in using manufacturing software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, or production management tools
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities with demonstrated experience motivating teams
• Malaysian work permit or Malaysian citizen preferred
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is advantageous
