Inter Island Group Pte Ltd in Penang is seeking a Service Operations Manager to lead a team of technicians and oversee day-to-day service delivery. You will ensure timely responses to inquiries and service requests, and uphold high quality aligned with SOPs and ISO standards.
You will plan, optimize resources, manage inventory and logistics, and collaborate across Sales, Engineering and Quality. Strong leadership, Bahasa Malaysia/English/Chinese skills, and process discipline are essential.
Manage a team of technicians and oversee the day-to-day operations of the service department to ensure timely response to customer inquiries and service requests.
Ensure timely and high-quality service delivery in alignment with customer expectations and company SOP standards.
Provide hands-on support to service operations as and when required.
Monitor service KPIs including response time, resolution time and service quality, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Develop and execute service planning strategies to improve operational efficiency and resource utilization.
Optimize workforce scheduling and assignment to ensure effective coverage and minimal downtime.
Analyze operational data and trends to identify areas for continuous improvement.
Manage service inventory, ensuring accurate stock levels of spare parts, tools and consumables.
Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure timely replenishment of inventory.
Oversee logistics related to service parts delivery, returns and field support operations.
Supervise service teams including technicians, coordinators and support staff.
Identify training needs and implement continuous development programs to upskill service personnel.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality and technical standards through structured training initiatives.
Liaise with internal departments including Sales, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain to align service operations with business goals.
Act as the primary escalation point for service-related issues and ensure timely resolution.
Prepare regular reports on service performance, inventory status and operational challenges.
Maintain documentation and records in compliance with ISO standards and internal audit requirements.
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations Management or a related field.
Minimum 5 years' experience in chiller service operations.
Strong knowledge of chiller technical service processes.
Proven hands-on chiller experience is an advantage.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication, planning and organizational abilities.
Proficient in MS Office; experience with ERP or service management systems is an advantage.
Able to work independently in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Good command of Bahasa Malaysia, English and Chinese, both written and spoken.
Additional language skills will be an added advantage.
