Job summary

RecruitFirst seeks an experienced Java/J2EE developer for a full-time role in Malaysia. The candidate will provide L3 production support for critical banking applications, collaborate with vendors on fixes, and perform root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence.

The job demands strong Oracle/PLSQL, WebSphere/JBoss/Tomcat, and Linux/Unix proficiency. Experience in CACS online, 3DS, and loyalty programs is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent; professional qualifications are a plus
• 6+ years of real-time Java development with core Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate
• 5+ years with application development tools (WebSphere, Maven, Jenkins)
• Experience in L2/L3 production support for banking apps
• Banking domain experience; knowledge of CACS online, 3DS, loyalty programs is preferred
• Hands-on Oracle DB with PL/SQL; strong Unix/Linux knowledge
• Experience with Web servers and J2EE, WebLogic/JBoss/Tomcat; patching experience in WebSphere OS
• Familiarity with DevOps tools: Bitbucket, Jenkins, Maven, Git; Control-M preferred
• Experience with JIRA/Remedy workflows
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and ability to work under pressure

Responsibilities

• Provide L3 support for critical banking applications to minimize downtime
• Collaborate with primary product vendor for fixes and enhancements
• Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurrence of issues
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in open systems
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (development, testing, infra) for seamless support
• Support Production Incidents and Problems within Cards Service Delivery
• Assist Production EOD activities as per roster

What requirements you'll need to be eligible

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science , Engineering or similar domain; Related professional/technical qualification will be advantageous although not mandatory


• At least 6 years real time experience in Java development and working knowledge in core java, Spring boot, Hibernate.


• 5+ years of total experience with application development tools such as WebSphere, Maven, and Jenkins.


• Experience in Application maintenance /production support with a focus on Level 2 or Level 3 support.


• Must have experience in banking domain and good to have experience in CACS online (Collections), 3DS and Bankwide loyalty program.


• Hands-on experience on Oracle database and working knowledge in PL/SQL.


• Hands-on experience in Web servers (such as JBoss Webserver, Apache etc.) and Java platform / J2ee and Java web container (such as WebLogic, JBoss EAP, JBoss Webserver Tomcat, IBM WebSphere etc).


• Should have experience in applying WebSphere Patches, OS Patches, SSL Cert Configuration.


• Strong technical background with expertise in Java and J2EE technology.


• .Good to have knowledge on Devops tool like Bitbucket, Jenkins, Maven, GIT.


• Good to have knowledge on Control M batch processing tool.


• Good to have experience in using JIRA and Remedy Workflow Application.


• Must have working knowledge with LINUX/UNIX environment.


• Problem solving skills, to be able to continuously come out with different structured ideas in the process solving problem.


• Good to have experience on apply WebSphere Patches, OS Patches, SSL Cert Configuration.


• Proactive, self-driven and can perform well under pressure with a high sense of urgency.

What you'll be doing on the job

Responsibilities include:

• Provide Level 3 (L3) support for critical applications, ensuring timely resolution of issues and minimizing downtime.


• Collaborate with the primary product vendor to address and implement application fixes, enhancements, and updates.


• Conduct root cause analysis for recuring issues and work proactively to prevent future occurrences.


• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to the open systems.


• Work closely with cross functional teams, including development, testing, and infrastructure teams, to ensure seamless application support.


• Work in the team of Cards Service Delivery to resolve Production Incidents & Problem Tickets.


• Support Production EOD’s as per Roster.
