Job summary

Luxoft Malaysia is seeking Software Engineers to join our client, a leading bank, in Kuala Lumpur. You will work in the new Technology Centre within Technology and Operations to deliver financial tech solutions for Data and Finance Applications.

Responsibilities include providing application support to business users, incident resolution, root cause analysis, and collaboration with the development team to deploy releases.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science/engineering or related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in application development and support in Banking Finance, ETL, Data warehouse, and data analytics.
• Working experience in Unix/Windows platforms, batch scheduling tools, database query skills, BI tools.
• Knowledge of ITIL or similar framework is a plus.
• Experience with Teradata, Hive, Impala is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide application support to business users and promptly attend to queries and requests.
• Resolve incidents to meet service level targets; handle escalations from business and technical teams.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes to prevent recurrence.
• Proactively manage incidents and problems with proper logging and change control.
• Collaborate with developers to identify resolutions and transition releases into production.
• Follow incident, problem, and change management processes and participate in DR/BCM activities.
• Monitor capacity and analyze performance data to forecast resource needs.
• Support management reporting and other centrally driven project initiatives as needed.

Our Client a leading bank in Asia with a global network of more than 500 branches and offices in 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America, are looking for Software Engineers.The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance, and planning support and services. They work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising, and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Malaysia and overseas branches.The client has more than 80 years of history in the banking industry and is expanding its footprint in Malaysia.You will be working in a newly set-up technology centre located in Kuala Lumpur as part of Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation.The Data and Finance Application Support team is within the Business Technology Services function, supporting the Bank's suite of Finance and Data warehouse Application system. The team is responsible for the production stability of Data and Finance applications and ensuring on going improvements in system availability, supportability & service levels over time.The successful candidate will be working with Business, Operations, Support and Development teams to ensure a high-quality service & swift resolution of issues

Responsibilities

• Provide application support to various business users. Attend to business queries and business requests promptly. Follow through the business requests to a proper closure
• Work on timely resolution for reported incidents so as to meet service level targets. Incidents include failures & queries reported by business users and technical staff; event alerts automatically detected and reported by event monitoring tool
• Perform root cause analysis to identify permanent solution so as to prevent recurring incidents and to minimize the impact of incidents that cannot be prevented
• Ensure all incidents and problems are proactively managed - Prioritizing numerous issues of varying severity and elevate issues as appropriate to necessary teams and management
• Collaborate with the development team in identifying resolutions and transitioning of releases into production environment
• Adopt standard Incident and Problem Management workflow and processes, i.e timely ticket, defect and incidents loggings including proper change management processes and quality issue/impacts emails
• Participate in DR/BCM activities or infrastructure related upgrade
• Responsible of capacity management. To monitor & analyse current performance and capacity data and forecast the capacity required by the applications ahead
• Aside from day-to-day support duties, there will be requirements to undertake other responsibilities such as management reporting & other centrally driven project initiatives as needed

SKILLS

Must have

• Degree in computer science/engineering or related disciplines.
• 3-5 years of experience in application development and support environment in Banking Finance, ETL, Data warehouse, and data analytics.
• Individual must have working experience in Unix/Windows platforms, batch scheduling tools, Database query skills, BI Tools skillsets
• Mandatory Technical skills : Oracle / MS SQL or DB2, Unix/Linux, AS400, Control-M, Shell scripting, Informatica
• Knowledge of ITIL of similar framework will be advantage
• Experiences in Teradata, Hive, Impala are good advantageous
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
• Excellent knowledge of End to End Banking Business data flow including finance, risk, compliance and accounting data across various sectors
• Excellent & proven Incident/Problem Management and organization skills a must
