Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking a maintenance technician to support production with machine setup, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance for Die Attach and Wire Bond lines in our Ipoh facility.

The role involves coordinating with Process, Equipment and Production teams, performing line setups for new products, and ensuring adherence to SOPs and quality standards. Candidates with a Diploma in mechanical/electrical disciplines and 1–5 years' relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical or Electronics Eng.
• 1–5 years in semiconductor or electronics manufacturing, Die Attach/ Wire Bond experience preferred.
• Hands-on troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and setup experience.
• Able to read machine manuals, SOPs and work instructions.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical and sensor systems.
• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills with a hands-on attitude.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of SPC, MES, Oracle is a plus.
• Able to work independently and in a team with good communication.
• Familiarity with ASM, Datacon, Yamaha or similar equipment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform machine setup, operation, troubleshooting, and recovery to support production.
• Collaborate with engineers and production to resolve machine issues.
• Assist in equipment qualification, buy-off, and line setup for new products.
• Monitor performance and respond to alarms to minimize downtime.
• Record maintenance activities and downtime accurately.
• Follow SOP, EHS and quality requirements during maintenance.
• Support continuous improvement for uptime, reliability, and productivity.
• Assist engineering on daily process sustaining and optimization.
• Carry out routine maintenance and 12-hour shift tasks.
• Replace and verify parts, tooling, sensors, and consumables.
• Pass unfinished tasks to the incoming shift and handle other duties as assigned.
