NPI Mechanical Design Engineer – Precision Machining

Job summary

Frencken Malaysia invites a Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineer to support New Product Introduction, product qualification and process development within precision engineering. You will lead NPI activities from First Article to fabrication part qualification and coordinate with Production to ensure a smooth transition to mass production.

Applicants should have a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering with a minimum of 3 years in machining or precision engineering.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in machining or precision engineering.
• Able to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and BOMs.
• Knowledge of jig and fixture design.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Proactive, independent, and able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPI activities from First Article (FA) to fabrication part qualification.
• Review customer engineering drawings, specifications, and product requirements.
• Develop process routing and BOM for new products.
• Monitor project timelines and coordinate NPI progress.
• Design jigs and fixtures to support manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Coordinate with Production to ensure smooth transition from FA to mass production.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives with cross-functional teams.
