Job summary
Frencken in Malaysia is seeking a proactive Project Engineer to coordinate manufacturing projects from planning through production handover. You will review drawings, BOMs and manufacturing requirements while liaising with Engineering, Production and Quality teams to ensure smooth execution.
2–5 years in manufacturing engineering or related roles are preferred. Responsibilities include coordinating tooling and prototypes for NPI, driving FAI and production readiness reviews, monitoring materials
Qualifications
- Bachelor-level engineering degree and strong fundamentals.
- 2–5 years in Manufacturing Engineering, Project Engineering, NPI or Industrialization.
- Experience in precision machining, sheet metal fabrication or semiconductor equipment is a plus.
- Ability to interpret drawings, GD&T, specs and BOM structures.
- Knowledge of NPI, production readiness and engineering change management.
Responsibilities
- Define project deliverables, milestones, resources and timelines.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities to meet project objectives.
- Review engineering drawings, BOMs and manufacturing requirements.
- Coordinate process development, tooling, fixtures and prototypes for NPI.
- Drive FAI and production readiness reviews and product transfer activities.
- Monitor material availability and supplier commitments.
- Track progress and escalate issues affecting delivery.
- Ensure quality, compliance with ISO 9001 and customer requirements.
- Prepare regular status updates and management reviews.
