Pivotal Systems (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd seeks an experienced Lead for New Product Introduction (NPI) to guide products from design to mass production in Kedah.
You will own BOMs, routings, and engineering data in ERP/MRP, coordinate with Design, Production, Purchasing, and Quality, and drive process improvements to meet quality, cost, and delivery goals.
Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from product kick-off through pilot builds and mass production, ensuring smooth product transfer into manufacturing.
Prepare, create, validate, and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, engineering data, and product structures within the ERP/MRP system to ensure manufacturing accuracy.
Coordinate with Design Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Planning, Quality, CNC Machining, and suppliers to ensure all materials, tooling, documentation, and manufacturing resources are ready for product launch.
Develop, validate, and optimize manufacturing processes, assembly methods, tooling, fixtures, and production workflows to achieve quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including Work Instructions (WI), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process flow charts, control plans, and engineering change documentation.
Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs/ECNs) and ensure timely implementation of design changes, BOM revisions, and process updates.
Plan and coordinate prototype builds, engineering trials, pilot runs, First Article Inspection (FAI), and production validation activities.
Work closely with Quality Engineering to support PFMEA, Control Plans, process validation, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) during new product introduction.
Analyze manufacturing and product issues using Root Cause Analysis, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and FMEA, and implement effective corrective actions.
Support equipment selection, tooling validation, process capability studies, and production readiness activities for new product launches.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies to improve manufacturability, productivity, quality, and cost.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, customer requirements, engineering standards, and workplace safety regulations.
Provide technical guidance and training to production personnel, technicians, and operators during new product introduction and process implementation.
Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, improve manufacturability, and support successful product launches.
Requirement:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 2 years of experience in New Product Introduction (NPI), Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or a similar engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
Experience preparing and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), product structures, routings, and engineering documentation in ERP/MRP systems.
Strong understanding of product introduction processes, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs/ECNs), prototype builds, pilot production, and production transfer.
Knowledge of mechanical assembly processes, manufacturing methods, engineering drawings, BOMs, and GD&T.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Proficient in problem-solving tools such as Root Cause Analysis, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and FMEA.
Good understanding of manufacturing quality systems, ISO 9001 requirements, and production process validation.
Strong project coordination, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
Able to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet project milestones in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required. Mandarin is an advantage to facilitate communication with customers, suppliers, and technical support.
