Job summary

Eng Teknologi Sdn. Bhd. seeks an NPI Project Engineer to lead new product introductions from quotation through validation and mass production.

You will review drawings, BOMs, and specs to ensure manufacturability, and coordinate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, Planning, Tooling, and Suppliers to meet milestones.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in NPI, Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Process Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Able to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications.
  • Experience with CAD software and ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal, die casting, plastic injection, assembly, or precision manufacturing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead NPI projects from quotation, feasibility study, development, validation, pilot build, and mass production.
  • Review customer drawings, specifications, BOMs, and technical requirements to ensure manufacturability.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, Planning, Tooling, and Suppliers throughout the product development cycle.
  • Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and process feasibility reviews.
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, ensuring milestones and deliverables are achieved.
  • Drive APQP activities including Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, PPAP, FAIR, and First Article inspections where applicable.
  • Support tooling, fixture, and process development to achieve efficient manufacturing.
  • Coordinate prototype, engineering builds, pilot runs, and production readiness activities.
  • Identify project risks, implement mitigation plans, and elevate issues when necessary.
  • Lead technical discussions with customers regarding engineering changes, deviations, and product requirements.
  • Support Engineering Change Notice (ECN/ECR) implementation and product documentation upgrades.
  • Monitor product launch performance and resolve technical or manufacturing issues during ramp-up.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve product quality, manufacturability, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Prepare project reports, status updates, and technical documentation for management and customers.
