Job summary

Reeracoen Recruitment in Penang seeks an experienced NPI Project Lead to guide new products from concept to mass production. You will collaborate with design, quality, production, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure manufacturability and timely launches.

The role requires reviewing drawings and BOMs, supporting DFM feedback, developing timelines, coordinating prototyping, and guiding transitions from prototype to production while managing risks and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/industrial engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in sheet metal fabrication.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
• Good understanding of project management principles.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage NPI projects from concept through production readiness.
• Work with design, quality, production, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure manufacturability and seamless product launch.
• Interpret and review technical drawings, BOMs and customer specifications.
• Support DFM and provide feedback to design teams for sheet metal components and assemblies.
• Develop and maintain project timelines, track deliverables, and report status to stakeholders.
• Coordinate prototyping, testing, and validation of new products.
• Define and document work instructions, routing sheets, and process flow for new products.
• Support the transition from prototype to production, including tooling, fixtures, and machine setup.
• Identify and mitigate risks throughout the NPI process.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.
• Maintain close communication with customers and internal teams to manage change requests and feedback.
• Support cost estimation and quoting activities for new projects.
