Celestica Malaysia seeks an Assistant Manager, Advance Process Engineering to lead development, optimization, and standardization of manufacturing processes for new products in Malaysia.
The role emphasizes NPI program execution, process qualification, equipment readiness, and collaboration with Design, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production teams to ensure a smooth transfer from NPI to sustaining operations.

Lead the development, optimization, and standardization of manufacturing processes for new products.
Develop and implement new, unique, and advanced manufacturing processes to support emerging technologies, customer requirement and business growth.
Identify technology gaps within manufacturing operations, and drive process innovation, automation and capability enhancement initiatives to close the gaps.
Define process flow, manufacturing routing, work instructions, and operational standards.
Ensure process readiness to support pilot builds, qualification runs, and mass production.
NPI Program ExecutionServe as the manufacturing process lead for NPI programs from concept through production launch.
Lead ECN / engineering change implementation into manufacturing systems and production documentation.
Collaborate closely with Design team, Program Management, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Production teams to ensure successful product introduction.
Drive NPI milestones and manufacturing deliverables according to project timelines.
Process Qualification & Validation
Plan and execute process qualification activities including First Article builds.
Lead process capability studies and validation activities to ensure process stability and repeatability.
Equipment & Tooling ReadinessDefine & Design manufacturing equipment, fixtures, tooling, and automation requirements.
Lead equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, and qualification activities.
Ensure production equipment capacity supports customer demand forecasts.
Pilot Build ManagementLead engineering builds, EVT, DVT, PVT, PPVT, and pilot production activities.
Analyse build results, identify process gaps, and implement corrective actions.
Drive lessons learned and readiness reviews before production release.
Yield & Quality ImprovementMonitor NPI yield performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for process-related issues.
Partner with Quality teams to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
Capacity Planning & Production RampDevelop manufacturing capacity plans to support product ramp-up.
Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve throughput and efficiency.
Ensure smooth transfer from NPI to sustaining operations.
Cross-Functional LeadershipCoordinate activities among Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality, Production, and Supply Chainteams.
Facilitate regular project reviews and communicate status, risks, and mitigation plans to management.
Documentation & ComplianceEstablish and maintain manufacturing documentation including:

PFMEA
Work Instructions
New Equipment Qualification Records
Validation Reports
Ensure compliance with ISO, customer, and industry standards.
Key Skills & Qualifications EducationBachelor's Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electronics, or related discipline).
Master's Degree is an added advantage.
Minimum 8–12 years of manufacturing engineering or NPI experience. At least 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
Experience in PCBA, networking products, servers, storage systems, or electronics manufacturing environments.
Strong knowledge of NPI processes and product industrialization.
Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, DOE, and Process Validation.
Knowledge of SMT PCBA, Box Build, System Integration, and Test Processes.
Experience in equipment qualification and capacity planning.
Strong people management and team development skills.
Excellent project management and stakeholder management abilities.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in documentation and system setup.
Good understanding of manufacturing execution systems (MES, ERP/SAP, etc…) and production shop floor control systems
Ability to manage multiple engineering changes and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Effective cross-functional communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
Structured problem-solving and analytical thinking capability.
Knowledge of quality systems and manufacturing standards (ISO, IPC, customer-specific requirements).
Proficient in Microsoft Excel / data analysis / reporting tools.
