Job summary

The NPD Sourcing Engineer at Molex in Penang, Malaysia, is a 1-year on-site contract based in Georgetown, Penang. You will support new product development by identifying, evaluating, and onboarding suppliers that meet technical, quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in supplier evaluation and development for new product introductions.
• Strong supplier quality knowledge to support launches.
• Proven procurement and supply chain management skills for sourcing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with technical drawings.
• Excellent cross-functional communication with engineering, procurement, and operations.
• Engineering or supply chain degree is beneficial.
• Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers meeting technical, quality, cost, and delivery needs.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and quality teams to define sourcing strategies.
• Assess supplier capabilities and manage early supplier involvement in design and development.
• Negotiate sourcing terms for new components and monitor prototype builds.
• Ensure alignment with Molex supply chain and quality standards.
• Support continuous improvement, risk mitigation, and cost optimization across product lifecycle.
