Job summary

MVC Resources is looking for a seasoned Sourcing / Procurement Specialist in Malaysia to manage direct and indirect materials, align supplier strategies, and lead RFQ processes. You will collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations for NPI and ongoing production support, driving cost reductions and supplier performance improvements.

The role requires 5+ years in technical sourcing or procurement, strong supplier management skills, and experience in manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sourcing, procurement, or engineering roles.
• Experience in capital equipment, semiconductor, or electronics manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, fabrication parts, and technical components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings is an advantage.
• Proven experience in supplier management, cost negotiation, and sourcing strategies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiar with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage sourcing activities for direct and indirect materials, including fabrication parts, modules, standard components, and indirect items.
• Align supplier strategy with purchasing objectives and engineering requirements.
• Analyse material demand and allocate sourcing to suppliers based on capability and capacity.
• Lead RFQ processes, cost analysis, and supplier negotiations to achieve optimal cost and quality.
• Perform market analysis and identify new suppliers to support engineering and production needs.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams on new product introduction (NPI) and ongoing production support.
• Drive continuous cost reduction initiatives and improve supply chain efficiency.
• Manage supplier relationships, including improvement projects and long-term partnerships.
• Support Zero Defect program and ensure supplier quality, reliability, and delivery performance.
• Conduct supplier evaluation and participate in quarterly business reviews.
• Maintain and update supplier database, purchasing info records, and source lists based on quality, cost, and delivery.
• Improve lead time and ensure supplier compliance with material availability requirements.
• Support critical negotiations on cost, lead time, and technical requirements.
• Handle ad hoc tasks as assigned by management.
