Job summary

GTSB in Selangor is seeking a Network/Project Engineer to oversee design, coordination and delivery of ELV and IT infrastructure projects.

You will manage architects, engineers, and technicians on-site, ensuring designs align with client requirements and safety standards. The role demands strong planning, communication, and problem-solving skills, with opportunities to grow within a dynamic installations company.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in IT/Engineering fields as listed in job requirements.
• Experience with IT infrastructure, networking and ELV systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design and schematic drawings, project schedules, BOM requisition, QA documents and installation reports.
• Organize and monitor supervisors/technicians or sub-contractors for projects to meet targets.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, meeting designs and quality standards.
• Liaise with customers or third parties to coordinate work.
• Conduct regular site inspections for quality and safety.
• Prepare progressive and final project documentation before handover.
• Provide pre-sales site surveys and technical support when required.
• Prepare weekly and monthly site progress reports.
• Plan daily tasks for the team and monitor progress.
• Manage ELV System Configuration (Security, IT Infrastructure, Barrier Gate).
• Support IT infrastructure maintenance: networks, servers, printers, and related hardware.
• Provide technical support for hardware, software and network issues for internal users.

NETWORK/PROJECT ENGINEER

JOB REQUIREMENT

• Diploma / Degree Computer Science, Telecommunication / Information Technology or Electrical Engineering
• Knowledge in IT infrastructure, networking hardware/software and wireless communications, ELV such as CCTV, Card Access System, etc. is preferred.
• Familiar with construction drawings, skills on VISIO, AUTOCAD and MS Project Applications will be added advantage.
• Strong people management and communication skills
• Must be responsible, committed, independent, pro-active with a can-do attitude
• Minimum 3 years experience on project co-ordination or management in Structured Cabling, IT / M&E industry with relevant on-site experience
• Highly organized, able to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare design and schematic drawings, project schedules, bills of material requisition, quality assurance documents and installation reports.
• Organize, manage and monitor team of supervisors/technicians or sub-contractors for respective projects and sites to ensure targeted progress are achieved.
• Ensure successful execution of projects within the required time frame, according to the agreed designs, compliant to company quality standards and operating procedures.
• Liaise with customer or third parties to co-coordinate work necessary to ensure smooth project implementation.
• To conduct regular inspections to ensure work quality and strict adherence to site safety and health requirements.
• Prepare necessary progressive and final project documentation before project handover.
• May from time to time provide pre-sales assistance to conduct site surveys and technical support to sales personnel.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports reflecting site progress.
• Plan daily tasks for the team as assigned by management.
• Monitor site progress and promptly report any obstructions or issues.
• ELV System Configuration (Security System, IT Infrastructure, and Barrier Gate System)
• Assist in managing and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure, including network systems, servers, computers, printers, and related hardware.
• Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues for internal users.
• Carry out other instructions related to the site or project as directed by the management.
