SAM Malaysia is seeking a qualified NDT Inspector to perform non-destructive testing using FPI and MPI in line with approved work instructions. You will assess surface indications, verify documentation, and ensure traceability across processed parts.
The role requires a Diploma in Engineering, 1–3 years of inspection experience, and familiarity with NDT processes. Altogether you contribute to SAM's aerospace and semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem.
Perform non-destructive testing activities using approved FPI and MPI methods in accordance with approved work instructions and process requirements.
Process parts through approved NDT methods including cleaning, masking, drying, penetrant application, dwell time control, rinsing, developer application, magnetization, demagnetization, and post-cleaning as applicable.
Verify part identity, job traveler, process route, and applicable process requirements before processing.
Perform NDT inspection on processed parts in accordance with qualification level and approved inspection criteria.
Inspect parts for surface discontinuities including cracks, seams, laps, inclusions, and other relevant indications.
Evaluate visible indications against applicable acceptance criteria, reference standard, and customer requirements.
Identify, segregate, and control nonconforming products in accordance with applicable procedure.
Escalate suspect, unusual, or rejectable indications to higher authority for review and disposition when required.
Prepare and verify NDT equipment, inspection stations, UV light, magnetic equipment, and process media before use
Monitor process and equipment condition including UV light intensity, bath condition, contamination level, temperature, and equipment performance to ensure compliance.
Ensure NDT chemicals, consumables, and process media are properly controlled, identified, and within acceptable operating limits.
Complete NDT process and inspection records accurately and maintain traceability of part status, inspection result, and operator identification.
Support nonconformance documentation, product segregation, and inspection status control activities.
Maintain compliance with approved work instructions, internal procedures, customer specifications, and applicable safety requirements.
Follow proper handling, storage, and disposal requirements for NDT chemicals, consumables, and controlled materials.
Maintain valid NDT qualification status and complete recertification as required by internal or customer requirements.
Maintain cleanliness, housekeeping, and 5S practices in NDT processing and inspection area.
Support internal audit, customer audit, process review, and continuous improvement activities related to NDT operations.
Ensure completion of annual training and training assigned by the leadership.
Diploma in Engineering, Technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, special process, or inspection environment.
Experience in FPI and/or MPI is preferred.
Aerospace or regulated industry experience is preferred.
Basic knowledge of Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) and Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) methods.
Basic understanding of NDT process sequence, inspection flow, and process control requirements.
Baic understanding of surface discontinuity types and indication recognition.
Basic understanding of engineering drawing, inspection criteria, and product acceptance requirements.
Basic understanding of process documentation, traceability, and inspection record requirements.
Basic understanding of nonconformance identification, segregation, and control requirements.
Ability to follow controlled process instruction and inspection requirements with discipline.
Good attention to detail and visual inspection capability.
Good problem-solving and escalation judgment.
Able to complete inspection record and basic data entry accurately.
Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint for data entry and presentation.
Basic communication in English (written and verbal) is required for documentation, reporting, and work instruction understanding.
