ADVANCED ENERGY INDUSTRIES (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. is seeking a Quality Engineer (NPI) to drive new product introduction activities at the Penang site, ensuring readiness and flawless launches.
You will coordinate quality planning, control plans, PFMEA, MSA/Gage R&R, and customer gate reviews, while guiding the manufacturing team to meet the NPI quality targets.
The NPI Factory Quality Engineer is responsible for the coordination of launch activities at the manufacturing location and creating/verifying launch process quality document and support program management gate reviews.
Is part of the Project team and ensures manufacturability/quality requirements are met and risks are mitigated.
In addition will be the focal point of coordination for the relevant Quality Systems requirements deployment to factory.
Ensure execution of PQP (Product Quality Planning) delivered from design site QPM (Quality Program Manager)
Ensure the factory NPI production line under quality control, firewall/line stop control.
Leadership inside factory NPI production / process driving for actions on all build issues (Manufacturing/Design)
Coordinate and consolidate build performance report within factory NPI team and align quality statement to QPM (Quality Program Manager) & Program Manager.
Owner of the Safe Launch Control Plan / CTQ (Critical-To-Quality) / Process Control Plan and to drive Flawless launch results.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Lead for manufacturing location’s NPI/AQP Deliverables and confirms completion of the site’s quality documents required internally and by the customer during the initial launch phases of a product, in conjunction with NPI team.
Liaison for the site for all Advanced Quality Planning activities including internal gate reviews with the Business Unit and with the program team.
Ensure that product functional specifications fully compliance for sample shipment.
Ensure execution of PQP (Product Quality planning) delivered from design site QPM (Quality Program Manager).
Support PFMEA activity to ensure functional specification requirements are fully met and confirm controls carried into the Control Plan.
Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering on the development and implementation of any Poke Yoke strategy and confirm controls carried into the Control Plan.
Responsible for the confirmation and completion of the manufacturing location’s readiness for launching programs and product / process changes.
Support and attend launch program meetings and customer process reviews / audits.
Coordinates the development of production process Control Plan, CTQ and Safe Launch Plan and keep update until formal program starts of production.
Coach and support the manufacturing team on the customer product quality requirements and site’s AQP requirements.
Monitors the FA part approval of supplied components.
Conduct program gate reviews to confirm site MRM (Manufacturing Readiness Matrix) activities are complete with the appropriate evidence, readiness assessment is completed and that all site MRM documents are on time to program commitments.
Ensure MSA studies and adequate Gage R&R for launching programs are conducted.
Has the authority and the responsibility to stop any process or product delivery in case of a non-conformance of customer expectations, safety, or environmental risks.
Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.
Guide related persons such as operator and inspector on quality standard and workmanship standard understanding.
Data collecting and analysis, and drive improvement with data.
Prepare 8D report / CAR, leads root cause analysis analysis and corrective/preventive action (RCCA) investigations when quality issues, defects, or test failures.
Implement First Article Inspection and submit results to customers as needed.
New Production Line Qualification.
Participation in DFM reviews and manufacturing readiness activities.
Other duties as assigned.

AE is a highly dynamic, technically challenging, and fast-paced manufacturing work place.
Works in a Standard office environment, fast-paced & busy manufacturing areas / labs, and clean-room environment

QUALIFICATIONS :
Strong interpersonal communication and listening ability.
English communication skills in verbal and written.
Practical experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools, tool usage and NPI program management.
Competent in problem solving tools such as 8D methodology:

SPC
Product life cycle and Reliability
ESD Control
Ability to read and interpret specifications to ensure the understanding of the agreed quality parameters and product specific requirements.
Knowledge of customer specific requirements
Knowledge of manufacturing on highly engineered, precision power conversion, measurement, and control solutions for several applications and processes.
Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 requirements and internal auditor certification is preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
EXPERIENCE :
Minimum five (5) + year working experience in an electronics manufacturing environment of PCBA process.
Have in process quality control or engineering experience, preferably with knowledge of electronic product manufacturing process.
Experienced with working in a faced paced, high mix low volume manufacturing environment
Experienced with manufacturing quality or product quality management.
Knowledgeable of SPC, Variation Control, and MSA or GR&R techniques.
Knowledgeable of IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-620 and IPC-7711/7721).
Understanding of ISO 9001 quality systems and copy exactly requirements.
Experience in the analysis, visualization and presentation of complex data.
The 6-Sigma background is preferred.
NPI experience is preferred.
EDUCATION :
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) and/or a related field from an accredited institution.
MBA is desired.
