We are seeking a skilled and dedicated NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) Technician to join our operations team in Johor Bahru, Johor. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the integrity and safety of our oil and gas infrastructure through the application of advanced inspection techniques. The NDT Technician will be responsible for conducting various non-destructive tests on equipment, pipelines, and structural components to detect defects and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. This position is essential to maintaining operational excellence and safeguarding both our assets and personnel.
Perform non-destructive testing using established methods including ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle inspection, liquid penetrant testing, radiography, and visual inspection
Conduct routine and scheduled inspections on pipelines, pressure vessels, storage tanks, and other critical equipment within the oil and gas facility
Document all inspection results accurately and prepare detailed reports in accordance with industry standards and company procedures
Identify defects, anomalies, and areas of concern, and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders and engineering teams
Maintain and calibrate NDT equipment and instruments to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality standards
Perform thickness measurements and material verification to assess equipment condition and remaining service life
Support preventative and predictive maintenance programmes by identifying potential failures before they occur
Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, and follow established safety protocols at all times
Participate in training and continuous professional development to stay current with industry best practices and technological advancements
Valid NDT Level 2 certification in at least two NDT methods (ultrasonic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, or radiography); Level 3 certification in one or more methods is preferred
Minimum of 1-2 years' experience as an NDT Technician in the oil and gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial sectors
Strong knowledge of relevant standards and codes including ASME, ISO, and API specifications
Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work procedures
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately record and report inspection findings
Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams
Physical capability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in challenging environmental conditions as required
A commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance, with proven experience working in safety-conscious organisations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility to adapt to operational demands
Experience with equipment condition monitoring and predictive maintenance techniques is advantageous
