Job summary

FlexiTalent China is seeking a Malaysia Category Manager – MRO Industrials (Asia Pacific) to own procurement and sales across general industrial supplies, tools, PPE and chemicals in Malaysia. You will manage full lifecycle procurement, supplier development, negotiations and contracts, and oversee inventory turnover while targeting revenue and gross profit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5–10 years of full-cycle MRO industrial product procurement and sales experience.
• In-depth expertise in at least one category: general industrial supplies, tools, PPE or industrial chemicals.
• Experience in industrial product procurement and B2B sales in Southeast Asia or Malaysia preferred.
• Fluent in Chinese and business English; able to negotiate with suppliers and clients in English.
• Familiar with local industrial product channels, import customs clearance and tax compliance in Malaysia; skilled in supplier negotiation, cost accounting and inventory planning.

About the Role

As Malaysia Category Manager – MRO Industrials (Asia Pacific), you will own MRO category procurement and sales in Malaysia across general industrial supplies, hand & power tools, PPE and industrial chemicals. You will manage the full cycle from supplier development, business negotiation and contract signing to inventory turnover management. You will also engage local and Chinese manufacturing factory clients, identify MRO centralised procurement demands, formulate category supply solutions and deliver revenue and gross profit targets.

Key Responsibilities

Take charge of MRO category procurement and sales in Malaysia, covering general industrial supplies, hand & power tools, PPE and industrial chemicals; oversee supplier development, business negotiation, contract signing and inventory turnover management.

Engage with local and Chinese manufacturing factory clients, identify MRO centralised procurement demands, formulate category supply solutions, and deliver revenue and gross profit targets.

Conduct in-depth research on local industrial product market prices and competitor channels in Malaysia; optimise the dual-source structure of cross-border and local procurement to reduce total procurement costs and improve category gross profit margins.

Implement full lifecycle supplier management, including supplier admission, performance assessment, payment term negotiation and after-sales quality control, to avoid supply and compliance risks.

Prepare regular reports on category inventory, sales revenue and gross profit data; collaborate with domestic supply chain and local warehousing & logistics teams to ensure stable product delivery.

Work with regional leaders to implement localised procurement and sales strategies and expand local industrial customer resources in Penang.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or above; majors in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Industrial Engineering or related fields are preferred.

5-10 years of full-cycle MRO industrial product procurement and sales experience, with in-depth expertise in at least one category among general industrial supplies, tools, PPE and industrial chemicals. Prior experience in industrial product procurement and B2B sales in Southeast Asia or Malaysia is highly preferred.

Fluent in Chinese and business English; capable of independently conducting business negotiations with suppliers and clients in English.

Familiar with local industrial product channels, import customs clearance and tax compliance rules in Malaysia. Proficient in supplier negotiation, cost accounting and inventory planning; capable of independently undertaking category performance targets.
