Job summary

SEM Matic Sdn Bhd is seeking a metrology lead to provide technical leadership in identifying equipment malfunctions and interfacing with metrology vendors. You will collaborate with engineers to select characterization techniques, interpret data, and drive process development for optimization.

Responsibilities include acquiring metrology data, summarizing results for review, training staff on SOPs, and maintaining SPC data to ensure metrology tools stay production-ready.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
• Languages: Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• 5+ years in CMM and vision system work.
• Expert level programming for CMM and vision systems.
• Strong data analysis and detail orientation.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent knowledge of GD&T and MSA (GR&R).
• Apply metrology techniques to meet the tech roadmap.

Job description

Provide technical leadership in identifying equipment hardware/software malfunctions and interface with metrology equipment vendors to resolve issues.

Collaborate with engineers to advise in the selection of appropriate characterization techniques and to aid in data interpretation for process development and optimization.

Acquire process metrology data and concisely summarize results for management and engineering review.

Train engineers and technicians on metrology equipment standard operating procedures and develop recovery procedures.

Collect and maintain SPC data and charts to ensure metrology tools are up to production.

Develop and maintain all equipment ensuring they are fit for use.

Job Requirements

Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.

Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English

At least 5 Year(s) of working experience in CMM and Vision system (e.g. Smart scope).

Expert level in programming of CMM and vision system.

Strong data analysis skills with high attention to details.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent knowledge in GD&T, MSA including GRnR.

Drive understanding and application of existing and new metrology techniques to ensure measurement capabilities meet the companies technical road map.
