Job summary

ams OSRAM Group in Kulim, Malaysia, seeks an experienced Maintenance Engineer for FOL metrology tools to calibrate and maintain measurement equipment, ensuring accuracy and traceability.

You will support recipe creation, equipment setup, preventive maintenance, and qualification of new tools while reducing downtime and improving process reliability. Excellent problem-solving and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field is required.
• Hands-on experience with FOL metrology tools is required (Defect Scanning, KLA/Unity/Onto, and measurement tools).
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to handle stress are important.

Responsibilities

• Perform, calibrate, and maintain metrology equipment to ensure accuracy and traceability.
• Provide line support for recipe creation, equipment setup, recovery and maintenance to meet KPIs.
• Evaluate and improve maintenance controls to maximize equipment reliability and lifespan.
• Troubleshoot advanced machines, with knowledge of Defect Scanning and measurement tools.
• Ensure compliance with 5S, Cleanroom and safety protocols.
• Support tool setup, installation and qualification for new equipment.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts to minimize downtime.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities in parts, maintenance and operations.
• Participate in quality improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability.

Your new responsibilities

• Responsible to perform, calibrate, and maintain measurement tools to ensure accuracy and traceability.
• Provide line support for recipe creation/optimization, equipment setup, recovery & corrective maintenance to meet KPIs defined in the Metro department.
• Evaluate and improve maintenance controls and procedures to maximize equipment reliability and lifespan.
• Able to perform advance machine troubleshooting. Knowledge on Metro tools such as Defect Scanning (KLA/Unity/Onto) tools and Measurement (CD/OVL/Bow/Roughness/Zeta) tools is a must.
• Ensure the compliance to 5S, Cleanroom & Safety Protocol.
• Support the new tools setup, installation & qualification.
• Maintain an inventory of critical equipment spare parts to minimize downtime and ensure the availability of necessary components.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs related to equipment parts, maintenance, and operations while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Mitigate risk capacity and capability bottleneck.
• Develop good equipment training program to bring up good maintenance skill among associate engineers and technicians.
• Participate in troubleshooting and quality improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and production outcomes.
• Support process team (upstream/downstream) for evaluation & process verification.

What we look for

• A bachelor’s degree in electronic, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Automation or equivalent.
• At least with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in FOL metrology tools such as Defect Scanning (KLA/Unity/Onto) Tools and Measurement (CD/OVL/Bow/Roughness/Zeta) Tools.
• Professional Knowledge in Metrology Process and Equipment.
• Good interpersonal skills, responsible and able to handle stress- Advance.
