Job summary

ams OSRAM is seeking a Metrology Technician/Engineer in Penang to perform, calibrate, and maintain measurement tools ensuring accuracy and traceability. You will support recipe creation, equipment setup, and corrective actions to meet KPIs in the Metro department.

The role requires at least 3 years hands-on experience with FOL metrology tools (Defect Scanning, CD/OVL/Bow/Roughness/Zeta), strong metrology knowledge, and solid interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electronics, electrical & electronics, mechanical, chemical, automation or equivalent.
• At least 3 years hands-on experience in FOL metrology tools such as Defect Scanning (KLA/Unity/Onto) Tools and Measurement (CD/OVL/Bow/Roughness/Zeta) Tools.
• Professional knowledge in Metrology Process and Equipment.
• Good interpersonal skills, responsible and able to handle stress - Advance.

Responsibilities

• Perform, calibrate, and maintain measurement tools to ensure accuracy and traceability.
• Provide line support for recipe creation/optimization, equipment setup, recovery & corrective maintenance to meet KPIs defined in the Metro department.
• Evaluate and improve maintenance controls and procedures to maximize equipment reliability and lifespan.
• Troubleshoot advanced Metro tools (Defect Scanning and Measurement tools) and ensure 5S, Cleanroom & Safety Protocol.
• Support the new tools setup, installation & qualification.
• Maintain inventory of critical equipment spare parts to minimize downtime.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs related to equipment parts, maintenance, and operations while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Develop equipment training program to uplift maintenance skills among associates.
• Participate in troubleshooting and quality projects to enhance equipment reliability and production outcomes.
• Support process team for evaluation & process verification.

Your new responsibilities

• Responsible to perform, calibrate, and maintain measurement tools to ensure accuracy and traceability.
• Provide line support for recipe creation/optimization, equipment setup, recovery & corrective maintenance to meet KPIs defined in the Metro department.
• Evaluate and improve maintenance controls and procedures to maximize equipment reliability and lifespan.
• Able to perform advance machine troubleshooting. Knowledge on Metro tools such as Defect Scanning (KLA/Unity/Onto) tools and Measurement (CD/OVL/Bow/Roughness/Zeta) tools is a must.
• Ensure the compliance to 5S, Cleanroom & Safety Protocol.
• Support the new tools setup, installation & qualification.
• Maintain an inventory of critical equipment spare parts to minimize downtime and ensure the availability of necessary components.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs related to equipment parts, maintenance, and operations while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Mitigate risk capacity and capability bottleneck.
• Develop good equipment training program to bring up good maintenance skill among associate engineers and technicians.
• Participate in troubleshooting and quality improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and production outcomes.
• Support process team (upstream/downstream) for evaluation & process verification.

What we look for

• A bachelor’s degree in electronic, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Automation or equivalent.
