Job summary

KMWE Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a CMM Programmer to create, validate, and maintain CMM programs using engineering drawings and GD&T requirements. You will ensure programs are up-to-date, and revision-controlled, and prevent the use of obsolete scripts.

You will troubleshoot probing and measurement issues, perform FAI per AS9102, and collaborate with QA, Engineering and Production to optimize inspection efficiency and reduce defects.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of working experience in CMM programming within precision manufacturing, semiconductor, aerospace.
• Strong knowledge and application of GD&T.
• Hands-on experience with Mitutoyo MCOSMOS software is mandatory.
• Familiar with CAD models and engineering software (SolidWorks)

Responsibilities

• Guide QA technicians and engineers on CMM operations and measurement techniques.
• Work with QA, Engineering, and Production teams to improve inspection efficiency and reduce defects.
• Perform other duties assigned by QA Manager.

Job description

Create, modify, validate, and approve and maintain CMM programs based on engineering drawings, CAD models, GD&T requirements, using Mitutoyo MCOSMOS or similar software.

Ensure all CMM programs are properly verified, updated, and revision-controlled following engineering or process changes.

Prevent the usage of obsolete, unverified, or incorrect CMM programs.

Accountable for ensuring inspection methodologies and measurement systems are fit for purpose and compliant with customer requirements.

Troubleshoot CMM programs, probing, and measurement issues.

Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) documentations as per AS9102 requirements.

Improves inspection efficiency, error reduction, automation opportunities, and cycle time optimization.

Ensure proper machine setup including alignment, probe qualification, environmental conditions, and fixture verification.

Guide QA technicians and engineers on CMM operations and measurement techniques.

Work closely with QA, Engineering, and Production teams, with good communication skills.

Support initiatives to reduce customer complaints, internal defects, and quality escape incidents.

Perform other duties assigned by QA Manager.

Job Requirement

Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent; or 2 to 3 years of related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum 3-5 years of working experience in CMM programming within precision manufacturing, semiconductor, aerospace.

Hands-on experience with Mitutoyo MCOSMOS software is mandatory.

Strong knowledge and application of GD&T

Familiar with CAD models and engineering software (SolidWorks)

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities

Able to work with minimal supervision.
