The CMM Technician operates CMM equipment and related metrology equipment safely and effectively to perform dimensional inspection according to engineering drawings, specifications, control plans, and inspection standards. The role involves developing, modifying, and executing CMM measurement programs, performing first article, in-process, final, and investigation measurements, and ensuring accurate measurement results with proper traceability.

Key responsibilities

Operate CMM equipment and related metrology equipment safely and effectively

Perform dimensional inspection according to engineering drawings, specifications, control plans, and inspection standards

Develop, modify, and execute CMM measurement programs

Perform first article, in-process, final, and investigation measurements

Measure critical dimensions, GD&T characteristics, profile, flatness, position, concentricity, perpendicularity, and other specified requirements

Prepare accurate CMM inspection reports and measurement data

Perform daily/periodic CMM equipment checks according to established procedures

Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T, and customer requirements

Support investigation of dimensional variation, machining issues, warpage, flatness, hole alignment, and other dimensional defects

Maintain CMM programs, inspection reports, measurement records, and related documentation

About you

Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Metrology, Quality, or equivalent technical qualification

2-5 years of relevant experience in CMM operation, dimensional inspection, metrology, or precision manufacturing

Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawings

Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

High attention to detail and accuracy

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Good communication and teamwork

Able to work independently with minimum supervision
