Job summary

Sunray Construction & Interior Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced MEP Manager based in Johor Bahru to lead and coordinate M&E works for new build projects.

You will prepare submissions, CSDs and RCPs for M&E coordination, liaise with subcontractors, consultants and clients, supervise QA/QC, witness progress claims, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of relevant construction experience.
• For Manager, at least 10 years in the related field.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to travel or be stationed outstation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare M&E submission documents for consultant approval.
• Prepare combined services drawing (CSD) for M&E consultant approval.
• Produce reflected ceiling plan (RCP) for M&E coordination and subcontractors.
• Coordinate M&E services per approved shop drawings (ACMV, Fire Protection, Cold and Hot water, Sanitary, Lift and Elevator, LPG, BMS & BCS, Electrical, CCTV, PA System, Data/POS, Telephone, Card Access (ELV)).
• Liaise with subcontractors, M&E consultant and client to clarify drawings, discrepancies, and requirements.
• Conduct site walk & coordination meetings with M&E subcontractors to resolve issues.
• Monitor site progress against master programme and address delays.
• Verify and witness M&E progress claims.
• Conduct QA/QC inspection, testing & commissioning and issue defect list.
• Liaise with authorities (TNB, Syabas, IWK, JKKP, Telekom, Bomba) and prepare documentation for submission.

Job description

Searching for MEP Manager based in Johor Bahru.

Required to have experience in new build block M&E.

Job Responsibilities

Prepare for M&E submission for consultant approval, such as shop drawing, material catalogue, sample board, project quality plan (PQP), work method statement etc.

Prepare combined services drawing (CSD) for M&E consultant approval

Produce reflected ceiling plan (RCP) in accordance with approved M&E coordination for subcontractors to install ceiling fittings items (lighting, speaker, CCTV, smoke detector, sprinkler, ACMV grilles, cassette units, service manhole etc.)

Coordinate M&E services in accordance with approved shop drawings (ACMV, Fire Protection, Cold and Hot water, Sanitary, Lift and Elevator, LPG, BMS & BCS, Electrical, CCTV, PA System, Data/POS, Telephone, Card Access (ELV), and other related systems)

Liaise with subcontractors (NSC), M&E consultant and client to clarify drawings, system discrepancy, and requirement specifications to be complied onsite.

Conduct site walk & coordination meeting with M&E subcontractors to resolve issues.

Monitor site progress against the master work programme and follow up with M&E trades to address any delays affecting overall progres

Verify and witness M&E progress claim for each related trade based on work done onsite.

Conduct QA/QC inspection, testing & commissioning, and issue defect list to subcontractor for final touch up work before handover and issuance of CPC

Liaise with relevant authority such as TNB, Syabas, IWK, JKKP, Telekom, and Bomba to ensure all works comply to requirement, and prepare the necessary documentation for submission and approval

Requirements

At least Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical) or equivalent.

2 - 5 years of relevant working experience in Construction industry

At least 10 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for Manager position.

Knowledge of using MS Office Suite such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook etc.

Knowledge of risk assessment methods

Disciplined, strong work ethic, and adaptable under challenges and pressure

Strong organizational skill, leadership and problem solving skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with all levels of stakeholders

Willing to travel or working outstation will be added advantage
