Job summary

SMP MEDTECH SDN BHD is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician (PW3 Certified) and Equipment Administrator to join our Nilai-based team on a full-time basis. The role focuses on servicing, repairing, and administering medical and industrial equipment to meet safety and performance standards.

The ideal candidate will hold PW3 certification, have hands-on maintenance experience, and manage equipment records and databases while coordinating with clients and internal teams to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Valid PW3 (Technician Grade 3) certification or equivalent technical qualification in mechanical maintenance.
• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in medical equipment, industrial machinery or related technical fields.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics and equipment operation.
• Competency in using diagnostic tools, testing equipment and maintenance software.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and preventative maintenance on medical and industrial equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
• Diagnose and repair equipment faults, utilising technical knowledge and diagnostic tools to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Conduct routine inspections and testing of equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational requirements.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and documentation, including service histories, repair reports and equipment performance data.
• Administer equipment databases and tracking systems to monitor maintenance schedules, warranty information and equipment lifecycles.
• Coordinate with clients and internal teams to schedule maintenance appointments and communicate service updates.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling of equipment and adherence to safety protocols.
• Contribute to equipment procurement and vendor management by providing technical input and recommendations.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment and properly store tools and materials.
