Job summary

KPJ Sri Manjung Specialist Hospital in Perak is seeking a dedicated Biomedical Equipment Technician to support the clinical engineering team. You will assist with asset validation, basic front-line service, and preventive maintenance of medical devices.

The role requires good communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia, with willingness to work shifts and weekends as needed at our hospital in Perak. Training and career development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• SPM/ Diploma in Electronic or Biomedical Engineering. Professional certificate will be an extra advantage.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia, for written and spoken communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist to validate the Asset list for Medical equipment.
• Provide technical advice in operation & maintenance, modifications/upgrading of medical equipment and preparation of documentation/reports.
• Update filing system of daily-related work being carried out.
• Liaise loosely with vendor on work coordination and spare part sourcing.
• Ensure that implementation of Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) is carried out as scheduled.
• Provide basic front line service support and minor corrective maintenance of medical equipment.
• Ensure continuous uptime related to medical equipment.
• Assist with the yearly budget and submit to management.
• Monitor in-house/outsourced activities to meet management expectations.
• Perform routine inspections as required.
• Monitor service vendors and testing and commissioning new equipment.
• Assist to prepare BER/condemn process.
• Understand organizational mission and goals; uphold service image.
• Continuously improve working processes and environment.
• Attend conferences/training sponsored by the company.
• Perform duties outside hospital as requested by management.

Job description

SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Support user in giving training and handling medical equipment. Provide basic front line service support and minor corrective maintenance of medical equipment breakdown.

MAIN DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist to validate the Asset list for Medical equipment
• Assist in providing technical advice in relation to operation & maintenance, modifications/upgrading of medical equipment and preparation of documentation/reports i.e Conditions Appraisal (CA) report, technical report, tender document, specifications and defect list.
• Update filing system of daily-related work being carried out.
• Liaise loosely with vendor on work coordination and spare part sourcing
• Ensure that implementation of Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) is carried out as scheduled.
• Provide basic front line service support and minor corrective maintenance of medical equipment
• Ensure continuous Uptime - Related to Medical equipment
• To assist with the yearly budget and submit to the management
• To monitor in-house/outsourced activities to ensure service delivery meets the expectations of the management
• To perform routine inspections as and when required
• To monitor service vendors and testing and commissioning new medical equipment and devices
• Assist to prepare BER/condemn process
• Understand the Mission, Vision, goals of the organization, role of the service and self.
• Continuously improving working processes and environment.
• Uphold image of the service and company.
• Maintain service discipline.
• Reporting unsafe practices, conditions, near misses, incidents and accidents to the Secretary of the Safety and Health Committee.
• Attend conferences/training sponsored or organized by the company.
• As and when requested by Management to perform any duty / works outside the Hospital / any sister Hospitals.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• SPM/ Diploma in Electronic / Biomedical Engineering Professional certificate will be an extra advantage.
• Able to communicate fluently and write in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Experience in hospital maintenance.
• Have interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to work on scheduled hours, shift, and weekends, public holidays and anytime when called during emergency.
