Job summary

Kelpac Medical Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance operations in Gelang Patah, Johor. You will oversee technical teams, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and drive reliability of our medical equipment and facilities.

The role requires at least 5 years in maintenance management in medical devices or manufacturing, a Bachelor's degree, and strong leadership, budgeting and problem‑solving skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance management within medical device/manufacturing.
• Bachelor degree required; CIDB certificate is advantageous.
• Knowledge of health, safety regulations and ISO 9001:2016.
• Membership of engineering bodies (e.g., CIBSE, IEE) preferred.
• Strong leadership, budgeting, and problem-solving abilities.

About the role

Kelpac Medical Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team in Gelang Patah, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our medical equipment and facilities. As Maintenance Manager, you will oversee all maintenance operations, manage technical teams, and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. This role is essential to maintaining our operational excellence and supporting the delivery of high-quality medical services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the overall maintenance function and establish a structured maintenance management system to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and operational performance.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve maintenance policies, procedures, work instructions, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and compliance across all maintenance activities.
• Establish preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and improve asset lifespan.
• Manage, train, supervise and mentor maintenance technicians and staff, ensuring high performance standards and professional development
• Monitor maintenance budgets, control costs and optimize resource allocation to maximize efficiency
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify maintenance requirements and potential equipment failures
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations relevant to medical equipment maintenance
• Maintain detailed maintenance records, documentation and reports for all equipment serviced
• Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to resolve technical issues promptly
• Develop and implement improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes and operational efficiency
• Respond to equipment failures and coordinate emergency repairs to minimize disruption to operations
• Stay current with industry best practices and technological advancements in medical equipment maintenance

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance management preferably within the medical device and manufacturing with at least Bachelor Degree Academic Qualification,
• Possession of an FMM or FME certificate from CIDB would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations, ISO 9001 : 2016 standards and industry compliance requirements
• Membership of a recognized engineering professional body such as CIBSE, IEE, or equivalent is preferred
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams
• Familiarity with budget management and cost control
• Ability to work flexibly and respond to operational demands
• Demonstrated experience in establishing or improving maintenance systems, SOPs, preventive maintenance programs, and technical competency development within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in leading maintenance transformation, process standardization, or continuous improvement initiatives will be highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices, reliability engineering, root cause analysis, and asset management principles
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
