OCS is seeking an experienced Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our on-site team in Malaysia. You will own maintenance for water-side equipment, ACMV and related mechanical systems, ensuring uptime and compliance with safety standards.
You will develop/MOPs, perform RCA, monitor MTTR/MTBF, and lead vendor coordination with the Client and internal CMMS staff. Strong technical background and hands-on maintenance skills are essential.

In this role, the successful applicant will function as part of the on-site team to ensure timely and quality deliverables of services rendered by OCS to its Client. The successful applicant will function as the focal point accountable for Mechanical Systems that cover:
1) Comply with Client’s process flows on PPM and Reactive Maintenance (RM)
2) Develop and/or review Method of Procedure (MOPs) document for equipment and/or systems for which PPM or RM is to be executed. This will require close collaboration with both internal team members and with Client representative(s)
3) Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for mechanical equipment performance, troubleshooting, Root-Cause analysis (RCA), and optimization
4) Ensure mechanical systems meet availability, reliability, redundancy, and efficiency target
5) Ensure Corrective Maintenance (CM) work orders are completed on time and documented properly
6) Enforce EHS guidelines, risk assessment (HIRARC), safe work procedure
7) Ensure compliance to local authority regulations (DOSH, BOMBA), OEM Standards, internal policies
8) Prepare monthly reports: equipment downtime, MTTR/MTBF, recurring issues, improvement action
9) Manage, track and ensure timely deliverables of both OCS appointed and managed (i.e, Client’s vendor who is assigned to OCS to manage) vendors
10) Collaborate closely with internal team members to ensure internal (OCS) and external (Client) documentation processes are adhered to at all times, In particular, this will require close collaboration with the CMMS Engineer and Admin Executive of OCS at site
11) Actively participate in any shutdown and/or major activity that may only be allowed to take place on weekends or on Public Holidays
12) Prepare daily/ weekly updates and monthly report summaries as necessary. This will require daily site walks and verification (refer point no. 4 above) as part of the preparation process.
13) Repair and perform preventive maintenance on CRAHs, AHUs, Chillers, Pumps, Cooling Towers, Plumbing, and Insulation
14) Troubleshoot defective equipment and maintain a snags list of defects that cover specific issues and proposed rectification plans
15) Perform daily inspections of the critical equipment
16) Supports incident response and mitigation
17) Monitor critical power, cooling/environmental & support systems and facilities to meet or exceed up-time service levels
The individual whom we seek should possess the following:
1) Degree in any Engineering / Science / Facilities Management or other technical field of study
2) Highly analytical and possess strong fundamentals and comprehension of Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics
3) Possesses at least 8 years of O&M experience handling ACMV systems in critical facilities (preferably Electrical and Electronics) or 5 years in other facilities
4) Highly familiar with O&M related MEPF system jargons (eg, ACMV, CDA, CRAC, TX, etc) and units of measurement (eg, PPM, PSI, etc)
5) Self-driven, innovative and independently drive assigned tasks to satisfactory completion in an output-based environment. Proactive in identifying issues and developing solutions to overcome them
6) Ability to be on standby and respond outside of office hours
7) Highly adept with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
