Job summary

VTO MOTOR SDN BHD in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to plan and coordinate HVAC, energy-efficiency and mechanical retrofit projects from site assessment through commissioning.

You will prepare and review drawings, support motor retrofit and chiller plant improvements, conduct site inspections, coordinate with clients and teams, and ensure compliance with drawings, safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in HVAC, mechanical engineering, energy-efficiency, EPC, chiller plant or industrial retrofit projects.
• Good knowledge of HVAC mechanical systems, motors, pumps, fans, chillers, cooling towers and engineering principles.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical, HVAC and electrical interface drawings.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Microsoft Project or other relevant engineering software is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate HVAC, energy-efficiency and mechanical retrofit projects from site assessment through commissioning.
• Prepare and review engineering drawings, equipment layouts, specifications, method statements and technical submissions.
• Support PMSM motor retrofit, chiller plant, cooling tower, AHU and FCU improvement works, including installation, testing and commissioning.
• Conduct site inspections, assess existing systems and identify practical opportunities to improve energy performance and reliability.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal teams on site access, work sequencing, shutdowns and approvals.
• Review equipment selections, technical proposals, supplier submissions and material requirements against project specifications.
• Monitor site works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical requirements, quality standards, PTW requirements and safe work practices.
• Prepare project reports, testing and commissioning records, handover documents, progress updates and other EPC technical documentation.
• Support energy-performance monitoring, Measurement and Verification (M&V) activities and troubleshooting of HVAC mechanical systems.
• Assist with project planning, schedules, cost awareness, contractor supervision and other engineering activities assigned by Management.

Requirements
