Job summary

VTO MOTOR SDN BHD is seeking a technically capable HVAC/mechanical technician to assist with installation, alignment, testing and commissioning of PMSM motors, inverters and related equipment on site in Malaysia.

The role involves maintenance, troubleshooting, site surveys, and collaboration with engineers on retrofit projects, EPC activities and contractor coordination. Fresh graduates are welcome and travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning, or a related field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; relevant hands-on HVAC or mechanical service experience is an advantage.
• Experience in mechanical installation, maintenance, HVAC systems, motors, inverters or industrial equipment will be an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC equipment, hand tools and safe work practices.
• Able to read and understand basic mechanical, HVAC and electrical interface drawings.
• Good troubleshooting, observation and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to travel to project sites and support planned shutdown or after-hours work when required.
• Responsible, safety-conscious, hardworking and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation, alignment, testing and commissioning of PMSM motors, inverters and related HVAC mechanical equipment.
• Carry out inspection, servicing, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of motors, pumps, fans, AHUs, FCUs, cooling towers and related equipment.
• Support engineers with HVAC retrofit implementation, EPC project activities, site surveys and contractor coordination.
• Read and interpret basic mechanical, HVAC and electrical interface drawings, layouts and technical documents.
• Assist with chiller plant, cooling tower and air-side system improvement works, including testing and commissioning checks.
• Identify mechanical faults, report site findings and assist in resolving technical issues under engineer supervision.
• Ensure all work complies with PTW requirements, site safety rules, company procedures and approved work methods.
• Maintain accurate service reports, inspection records, test results, asset information and work-order documentation.
• Provide technical support at customer sites, including scheduled maintenance, breakdown response and project handover activities.
• Support EMS/IoT asset registration and basic data collection when assigned, and perform other duties directed by the Engineering Manager.
