Jora Malaysia is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Designing role for fresh graduates in Penang. You will assist in concept designs for mechanical sub-systems, create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings, and manage BOMs through PLM systems.
On-site prototyping, testing, and documentation tasks will accompany design work. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, proficiency in 3D CAD modeling, and understanding of manufacturing processes.

Design Support: Assist in preparing concept designs for mechanical sub-systems, focusing on reliability, robustness, and mission-critical performance.
3D Modeling & Drafting: Create detailed 3D models and 2D technical drawings for mechanical components including plastic injection molded parts, die castings, and sheet metal.
Bill of Materials (BOM): Set up and maintain accurate BOMs and release mechanical prints through our PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems.
Prototyping & Pilot Builds: Provide on-site support for prototype assembly and pilot production runs to identify design improvements.
Testing & Validation: Perform mechanical verification tests (such as thermal cycling, and water ingress) and document results in formal test reports.
Documentation: Compile technical information for user manuals, instruction sheets, and assembly guides.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Proficiency in generating 3D CAD models and 2D drawings. Experience with PTC Creo or Solidworks is a significant advantage.
A basic understanding of manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, metal stamping, and PCBA assembly.
Ability to clearly present conceptual ideas and technical data to the broader engineering team.
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural or heat transfer applications (academic projects are acceptable).
Familiarity with IP (Ingress Protection) sealing standards for water and dust resistance.
Understanding of Six Sigma principles or basic tolerance stack-up analysis.
Knowledge of material properties for engineering plastics and die-cast metals.
