Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience with engineering drawings, BOMs, and assemblies.

We are looking for a Design Engineer with experience in machine design and product development. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving mechanical products and systems from concept through to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop machines, mechanical systems, components, and products based on project requirements.
• Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software.
• Perform 3D design and modelling using software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, or Creo.
• Participate in product development activities, including concept development, prototyping, testing, and design improvements.
• Conduct design calculations, material selection, and basic engineering analysis where required.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, and other technical documentation.
• Work closely with engineering, production, project, and technical teams to ensure designs meet project and manufacturing requirements.
• Review and modify designs based on testing results, production feedback, and customer requirements.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant engineering standards, safety requirements, and quality specifications.
• Provide technical support during fabrication, assembly, installation, and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot design and technical issues and recommend appropriate engineering solutions.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Preferably 1-3 years or more of relevant experience in machine design, mechanical design, or product development.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in 3D CAD modelling and mechanical design.
• Proficient in at least one of the following software:
• SolidWorks
• Autodesk Inventor
• CATIA
• Creo
• Experience in preparing engineering drawings, assemblies, and BOMs.
• Good understanding of mechanical components, manufacturing processes, materials, and fabrication methods.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Fresh graduates with strong CAD skills and relevant project experience may also be considered.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in machine design and product development.
• Knowledge of DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly).
• Experience with prototyping, testing, and design validation.
• Knowledge of engineering standards and manufacturing processes.
• Experience working in a project-based or manufacturing environment.
