Job summary

Ocean Vantage Engineering Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support engineering, maintenance and project activities on site.

The role involves technical support, coordinating mechanical works, reviewing drawings and documentation, and ensuring safety and compliance with HSSE, QA/QC and company requirements. The successful candidate should hold a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and have good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
• Experience in mechanical engineering, maintenance, project, or industrial operations is advantageous.
• Good understanding of mechanical equipment and maintenance practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for mechanical engineering, maintenance, and project activities.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor mechanical maintenance and repair works.
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Assist in inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems.
• Identify mechanical issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with contractors to complete works per approved requirements.
• Monitor progress, quality and compliance with procedures.

Job description

We are looking for a qualified and motivated Mechanical Engineer to support engineering, maintenance, and project activities. The role will be responsible for providing technical support, coordinating mechanical works, reviewing engineering documentation, and ensuring mechanical activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable standards and Company requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Project, Contractors, and other technical teams to support the reliability and performance of mechanical equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support for mechanical engineering, maintenance, and project activities.

Plan, coordinate, and monitor mechanical maintenance and repair works.

Review mechanical drawings, specifications, procedures, and technical documentation.

Assist in the inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems.

Identify mechanical issues and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.

Coordinate with contractors and service providers to ensure mechanical works are completed according to approved requirements.

Monitor work progress, quality, and compliance with approved procedures and specifications.

Assist in preparing technical reports, work scopes, material requirements, and maintenance documentation.

Support equipment reliability, maintenance optimization, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Ensure mechanical activities comply with HSSE, QA/QC, regulatory, and Company requirements.

Participate in site inspections, technical meetings, and project coordination activities.

Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by Management from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

Degree in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent qualification.

Experience in mechanical engineering, maintenance, project, or industrial operations will be an advantage.

Good understanding of mechanical equipment, maintenance practices, and engineering principles.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational and coordination skills.

Able to work independently and effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Willing to work at operational and project sites when required.
