Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Contract Mechanical Engineer to support mechanical static and rotating equipment in oil & gas environments on site in Johor. You will develop and execute engineering strategies, provide technical input across EPC, commissioning, and start-up activities, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and contractual standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience.
• Conversant with relevant mechanical codes and standards and procurement processes.
• Hands-on knowledge of construction and commissioning of piping systems, static and rotating equipment.
• Understanding of onshore and offshore project activities.
• Experience in petrochemical / Oil & Gas facilities is highly preferred.
• Experience in plant maintenance and turnaround activities will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with reliability engineering, asset integrity, and inspection.
• Exposure to EPC and brownfield projects, as well as commissioning and start-up activities.
• Good understanding of contract, safety, and quality requirements.

• Ensure mechanical engineering activities comply with applicable technical standards, safety, quality, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
• Provide technical input and assurance for mechanical engineering activities, including the application and compliance of COMPANY technical standards.
• Support asset integrity, reliability, availability, and maintenance improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.
• Maintain accurate engineering and maintenance documentation and provide technical recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
