Job summary

ELSA in Johor seeks a Mechanical Engineer for a contract role in Oil & Gas. You will support mechanical static and rotating equipment, ensure safe asset performance, and develop technical solutions across project phases.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's in mechanical engineering and at least five years' experience, with familiarity in piping, rotating equipment, and EPC/brownfield environments. On-site work in Johor with strict safety and quality adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience.
• Conversant with relevant mechanical codes and standards and procurement processes.
• Hands-on knowledge of the construction and commissioning of piping systems, static equipment, and rotating equipment.
• Understanding of onshore and offshore project activities.
• Experience in petrochemical / Oil & Gas facilities is highly preferred.
• Experience in plant maintenance and turnaround activities will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with reliability engineering, asset integrity, and inspection.
• Exposure to EPC and brownfield projects, as well as commissioning and start-up activities.
• Good understanding of contract, safety, and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering support for mechanical static and rotating equipment, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient asset performance.
• Develop and execute mechanical engineering strategies, plans, and technical solutions to support project and operational requirements.
• Provide technical support throughout engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, reliability improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure mechanical engineering activities comply with applicable technical standards, safety, quality, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
• Provide technical input and assurance for mechanical engineering activities, including the application and compliance of COMPANY technical standards.
• Support asset integrity, reliability, availability, and maintenance improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.
• Maintain accurate engineering and maintenance documentation and provide technical recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
