Job summary

Elsa Talent is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Malaysia to provide technical support for mechanical static and rotating equipment, driving asset reliability and safe operations. You will develop strategies, support EPC/brownfield projects, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards across onshore and offshore activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical codes and standards and procurement processes.
• Hands-on experience with piping systems, static and rotating equipment construction and commissioning.
• Understanding of onshore and offshore project activities and EPC/brownfield projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering support for mechanical static and rotating equipment to ensure safe, reliable asset performance.
• Develop and execute mechanical engineering strategies, plans, and technical solutions to support projects and operations.
• Provide technical support throughout engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up activities.
• Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, reliability improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with technical standards, safety, quality, regulatory and contractual requirements.
• Provide input and assurance for mechanical activities including COMPANY technical standards.
• Support asset integrity, reliability, availability and maintenance improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.
• Maintain accurate engineering and maintenance documentation and provide technical recommendations to stakeholders.

• Provide technical support throughout engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, reliability improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure mechanical engineering activities comply with applicable technical standards, safety, quality, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
• Provide technical input and assurance for mechanical engineering activities, including the application and compliance of COMPANY technical standards.
• Support asset integrity, reliability, availability, and maintenance improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.
• Maintain accurate engineering and maintenance documentation and provide technical recommendations to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience.
• Conversant with relevant mechanical codes and standards and procurement processes.
• Hands‑on knowledge of the construction and commissioning of piping systems, static equipment, and rotating equipment.
• Understanding of onshore and offshore project activities.
• Experience in petrochemical / Oil & Gas facilities is highly preferred.
• Experience in plant maintenance and turnaround activities will be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with reliability engineering, asset integrity, and inspection.
• Exposure to EPC and brownfield projects, as well as commissioning and start‑up activities.
• Good understanding of contract, safety, and quality requirements.
